How My Triage Network Works
Accessing the right mental health support shouldn't feel like another problem to solve when you're already struggling.
Yet many people feel unsure about the type of support or practitioner they need, or overwhelmed by professional titles, treatment approaches, assessments, insurance requirements, waiting lists and conflicting advice.
This is why I created My Triage Network: to offer people an expert human guide through what can otherwise be a confusing and impersonal process.
Unlike many other services, My Triage Network doesn't rely on algorithms, automated matching processes or unqualified staff to interpret your needs. I describe my role as that of a trusted mental health concierge.
As a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience across public and private settings, I personally assess your needs and preferences, provide carefully considered, clinically informed recommendations, and introduce you directly to an appropriate mental health professional or multidisciplinary team.
Over the years, I've also personally sought out, interviewed and carefully selected more than 100 mental health professionals before inviting them to become affiliated with My Triage Network. This gives me direct access to a trusted multidisciplinary network whose expertise I know well, and whose members I can consult when considering the most appropriate service for a client.
The result is a quick, expert-led service that makes the process feel simpler, less stressful, and a lot more human.
The experience of every person who uses My Triage Network is paramount to me. I aim to provide a warm, responsive and highly personalised service in a world that's becoming increasingly automated, distant and impersonal. This commitment is reflected in the reviews people leave about their experience of the service.
How the Service Is Evolving
I chose to offer this service for free because people usually come to My Triage Network while they're distressed, uncertain, or worried about someone they love. I didn't want cost to be one more barrier at the exact moment someone was trying to get help.
I've personally given the time this model needs - often outside normal working hours, including weekends and periods of leave - because I didn't want anyone to feel alone while trying to find support. I also introduced an optional way for people to contribute voluntarily, and while some kindly did, it hasn't been enough to sustain that model as the service has grown.
After four years of offering only complimentary triage - personally assessing clients' needs, liaising with practitioners, providing clinically informed recommendations, and making introductions to suitable mental health professionals - I'm now introducing two ways to Get Triaged.
Route 1: Free Triage Request
This route is similar to the original one, with a slightly narrower scope so I can continue to offer it for free. It's leaner, not lesser - and still genuinely useful for anyone with a straightforward request.
It's likely to suit you if:
you're not in a rush;
you already know what type of support you're seeking;
your needs are relatively straightforward;
you're mainly seeking a recommendation and introduction;
you're completing the form as a third-party referrer, such as a healthcare professional, teacher, solicitor, case manager or another relevant professional; or
you have an MTN code from your employer.
I'll review the information you provide when capacity allows. Where I can readily identify someone suitable within the network, I'll recommend and introduce you to an appropriate professional. If I'm unable to identify a suitable option based on the information and resources available through this route, I'll let you know.
The free route doesn't include:
a telephone consultation;
an extended search outside the immediate network;
detailed clinical pathway planning;
multidisciplinary coordination; or
a commitment to continue searching until an appropriate recommendation is identified.
It's a carefully considered free triage request, not an ongoing consultancy service.
Route 2: Priority Triage Consultation - £195
This route is the fuller, more hands-on version of what My Triage Network has always aimed to offer - for when a situation needs a quicker, more comprehensive and closely supported process.
It may be particularly helpful if:
timing matters;
your circumstances are complex;
you're unsure what kind of professional or treatment you need;
you're deciding between therapy, psychiatric input or an assessment;
previous support hasn't been effective;
several difficulties or family members are involved;
you may require input from more than one discipline;
you have specific location, insurance, identity or specialist requirements; or
you'd value more direct access to me throughout the process.
This route includes:
priority review of your form;
a clinical triage consultation with me;
direct telephone contact when required;
clinically informed pathway guidance;
fast-tracked matching;
direct consultation with relevant professionals;
an extended search within and, where necessary, beyond the network; and
ongoing support during the matching process where appropriate.
I'll consider the broader picture, help clarify what type of support is likely to be most appropriate, and develop a practical plan before making recommendations. Where necessary, I'll contact professionals directly, make telephone enquiries and extend the search beyond the existing network. The aim is to identify a suitable professional, service or combination of services - not just hand you the first available name.
If, after the consultation and an extended search, I’m unable to find a suitable professional or service to recommend, you’ll be fully refunded.

Which Route Should You Choose?
The key difference is the level of depth, speed and involvement you need.
With Route 2, you're paying for expert clinical thinking - making sense of the situation, working out what's actually needed, and putting a trusted professional network to work on your behalf. A lot of that thinking happens before you ever see a name: the calls, the cross-checking, the professionals consulted along the way.
Two routes make this a more transparent, sustainable model - one keeps free access for straightforward requests, the other offers more speed, guidance and support for those who need it.
Complete the Get Triaged form and choose whichever route fits how much guidance and speed you need.
As always, thank you for trusting me with something so personal.
